Ser.In.Ar. has been managing Rocca delle Caminate since 21 July 2017, following a specific agreement with the Province of Forlì-Cesena (owner of Rocca delle Caminate) to turn the building into the headquarters of the Forlì-Cesena Technopole.
Thanks to a series of resolutions from the Regional Committee (No. 89 of 25/01/2010 – No. 346 of 8/02/2010), the Castle is now included among a number of infrastructures for the Technopole of Forlì-Cesena, within the High Technology Network of the Region. Subsequently, the Province of Forlì-Cesena, owner of the Castle, signed an agreement with the University of Bologna (5/02/2013), through which some premises were granted to the “CIRI Aeronautica” research infrastructure, for research and technology transfer purposes.
Finally, pursuant to a decree of the President of the Province (6/09/2016), guidelines were approved for granting management rights for the remaining part of the castle to a body that would run the place in line with regional priorities. A procedure was put in place to select the best management project in terms of research and technology transfer. Ser.In.Ar. won the competitive bid and was awarded the contract.
The agreement has granted a three-year concession and a possible contract renewal for a further three years. Furthermore, it establishes restrictions regarding the castle uses, including, along with research, innovation and technology transfer activities, initiatives of public engagement regarding historical and architectural testimonies.
Thus, also thanks to the major restoration work recently completed, Rocca delle Caminate has turned into a real strategic centre for the overall development of our territory, embracing aspects of economic innovation and historical-cultural enhancement.
